Partition (2007)

"Partition, a name which resembles India’s division 60 years back. Well known Canadian director Vic Sarin has projected Partition as love story which stimulates amidst the cries of hatred and fear, set during the partition of India in 1947.

In the last few years, Indian cinema has witnessed some good movies made on the similar theme. Some of them being Veer Zaara, Gadar and Pinjar. Likewise, Partition focuses on the love story and not on the politics related to the nation. The film’s plot draws huge similarity from Anil Sharma’s Gadar.

The plot initiates with the arrival of Gian Singh, a Sikh soldier from the World War II. Gian served in Burma for 5 years and fought for the British. Gian heads to his village in Punjab and aloofs himself from the bloodshed. He now leads a peaceful life that of a farmer. "
